Elopements
An elopement is a beautifully intentional way to celebrate your marriage—focused entirely on the two of you. It’s less about a large guest list and formal traditions, and more about creating a meaningful experience in a location that reflects your relationship.
Whether it’s just the two of you or a small circle of your closest people, elopements offer the freedom to slow down, be present, and design a day that feels authentic, relaxed, and true to your story.
My approach to elopements is simple: I document the real moments as they unfold while helping guide you through the experience so you can stay present and fully enjoy your day.

Planning an elopement
Thinking about eloping?
Ask yourself:
Do we want an intimate day or a traditional wedding?
What matters most to us—people or experience?
Do we want a simple, stress-free day?
Would we rather focus on each other than a big event?
How do we want our wedding day to feel?
What will matter most when we look back on this day?
Choosing a location
Options
Oregon has a wide variety of beautiful places to choose from for your elopement:
- Beaches
- Mountains
- Forests
- Waterfalls
- Deserts
- Scenic viewpoints
- Lakes

Permits and rules
Public areas, state parks and private ones
Public beaches usually don’t require a permit for small ceremonies, as long as you’re not bringing chairs, tables, or other setups.
State parks may require a permit, especially if you have guests or plan to use any facilities.
Most natural spots like forests, cliffs, and waterfalls don’t require a permit for very simple elopements with just the couple.
Acquire marriage license
In Oregon:
You must obtain a marriage license from the county clerk in the county where you will be married.
The license is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance.
